Beverly Kay Enger, 74, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on March 18th, 2025. Bev was born in Worthington, MN on September 1st, 1950, to Amos Wiese and Thelma (Weiland) Wiese.
She graduated from Hartley Community High School in Hartley, IA, and then from community college. As an adult, she fell in love with and moved to Colorado. She was married to Michael Enger for a time. Bev was an extremely hard worker and had a long career at Coors Brewery in Golden, CO where she was a quality control specialist. She also worked at other brewers, dairies, and grocers in the NOCO area along with being a paper carrier. Bev also invested in real estate and beautifully fixed-up her dream home on Weld Country Road 11, of which she was very proud.
Bev loved all animals and met her close friends, the Wilsons, in 1985 when she was buying hay from them for a hungry horse she had seen that day along her paper route. Her cat, “Precious”, was her most precious and constant companion. This ‘semi-native’ loved the Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, and Avalanche. “Loved to sing, garden, was a talented cook – an extremely independent, self-made woman with a heart of gold, especially for hurting people and animals” would be a great description of her. Bev was very prolife, patriotic and empathetic for the downtrodden and the underdog. A fighter she was!- beating breast cancer twice many years apart and also surviving and rehabilitating a broken hip, which many people are not able to do. Along with “feisty, had a great sense of humor, loved to joke with all she met, and was very generous to charities and anyone who did her a kindness.”
Bev was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Thelma Wiese, her younger brother, Robert Wiese, and her sister-in-law, Mary (Ronald) Wiese.
Bev is survived by her elder brother, Ronald Wiese, of McKinney, TX, nieces and nephews: Matthew, Angela, Walter, Samuel (Laura), Heidi, and Katy Wiese, 9 great nieces and nephews, and 7 great-great nieces and nephews. Also survived by Aunt Karen Wiese of Milford, IA and cousins Mike and Greg W. She is survived by her dear friends, Amy and Mike Gilmor and their children, of Bennett, CO, and Elizabeth Wilson, of Watkins, CO.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 AM at Mount View Cemetery in Bennett, CO 80102 on April 28th, 2025 with Pastor Mike Lemke presiding.
