Benjamin "Ty" Rotruck

Benjamin "Ty" Rotruck, passed away peacefully on July 17 with his wife by his side. Ty was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia and when our country called, he served in WW II as a pilot with the Army Air Corps. He met his beautiful wife in 1945 while serving our country and stationed at Lowry AFB. He joined forces with Martin Marietta in 1956 where he spent 30 years and retired as the Chief of Metrology. He was a 1963 graduate of Denver University. For 35 years, Ty and his wife Ann, were round dance instructors traveling far and wide to teach their love of dance. In addition to dancing, Ty loved to golf, read, and spent time volunteering for the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in the Space Odyssey exhibit. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ann, sons Bill (Rachelle) Rotruck of Denver, Richard (Dr. Mary Beth Moser) Rotruck of Seattle, WA, and daughter Diane (Dale Varner) of Elizabeth. He has 2 grandsons, Ben (Katie) Varner of Lancaster, CA, Rick Varner of Denver, and a great granddaughter, CiCi Varner of Lancaster, CA. Because of his love of astronautics, the family is requesting in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We know the angels are dancing with you!
A Celebration of "Ty's" life will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bullock Colonial.
