  1. Barbara and I met through the Rocky Mountain chapter of the Special Library Association in the early 80s. We worked on several projects together and became friends. I admired her smarts, her integrity, her good humor, her energy, and her dedication to her work. And we had a lot of fun. I was a consultant to the library community at the time. I saw her take on a thankless job dealing with a very difficult personnel issue at a federal library. It took guts to deal with this stressful situation and many months to resolve. She came out of what was then a semi-retirement; she didn't have to do it. She was motivated by what she felt was the injustice inherent in the problem. And then, when it was finally resolved in a courtroom, she quietly left. One of the bravest things I ever saw. Condolences and best wishes to her family.

  2. I met Barbara through the Bead Study group at DMNS. She was intelligent, spunky and assertive—all qualities that I love. She was always doing research—sometimes involving fraud! I helped her out once and it was quite fun! Miss her!
