Barbara Ann Cochran was born in Ohio County, Indiana on April 17, 1938 to Robert and Ruth Cochran. She is the eldest child and loving sister of three siblings, Janet, Robert and Mary Jane. In the fall of 1957 she married James William Murphy and they had 3 beautiful children, Darcy, Brett (who preceded her in death) and Holly. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She later married William Spencer Clore in the spring of 1991, bringing into the family a step-daughter Kim. Barbara was blessed with five wonderful grandchildren, Daneya, Duane, Andrew, Adam and Aaron. And three great grandchildren, Kayla, Ethan and Evan.
It doesn't matter if you knew her as Cochran, Murphy, Clore or as sister, wife, mother, grandmother or friend. If you had the privilege of knowing Barbara you knew a woman who had a profound effect on everyone. Her ability to mend the wounded heart and love EVERYONE unconditionally was without measure. Her willingness to listen and hear what you were saying even if you didn't know what you were trying to convey was a gift from God. Her love wasn't just measured by words and actions but also by her love of food and cooking for others. It didn't matter if you were her family or friend you tasted the love in every bite.
Barbara found joy in the simple things in life. The love and devotion to her family and friends, the world of literature, teaching and playing canasta with her loved ones and so much more. Most importantly she found joy and contentment just being with those she called "hers." Not only was she the pillar and foundation of her family, she weaved a piece of herself into everyone that she loved, making them stronger. Her passing on March 31st 2017 was a loss that will be felt for a life time by so many. In honor of a woman who found beauty in all those she touched in life, remember to take a moment every day and find that same beauty in your life!
