Axel James Westman age 45 passed away unexpectedly on November 30,2020 in Denver, Co. He was born in Denver Colorado on September 15,1975 to his father Axel E. Westman and his Mother Theresa Close. Axel was raised and lived the majority of his life in Denver, Co. He attended Rosedale elementary school, Flood junior high and both Englewood and Bear Creek High School’s.

Axel is survived by his two sons Michael M. Westman and Jameson Westman a younger sister Brandi Presley. He is also survived by his Aunts Rebecca Sinkhorn and Shelly Westman, along with his cousins James Sinkhorn, Karena Sinkhorn and Patrick Westman.

Throughout his life Axel enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. He could often be found fishing in the lakes and rivers all around the Denver area. Axel was a lifelong collector of rare stones and rocks. He also loved music and art of all types. Axel above all cherished time spent with his family at the V.F.W. post #3971. For all of Axel’s chaotic energy, charm, and mischievous ways he had a gentle soul. Time spent hanging out with Axel could at any time result in a court summons or a world-class hangover the next day, but his friends and family would always drop whatever they were doing whenever he called just to spend time with him. His great smile and sense of humor were enough to make you forget whatever sensibilities he may have offended. He didn't mean anybody any harm; that was just Axel being Axel. Aside from those named above Axel was loved and will be deeply missed by many more Family and friends. A private service will be held for Axel due to the Covid restrictions.

Services have been entrusted to Stork-Bullock Mortuary of Lakewood.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. My favorite memory of Axel is when I was 13, I was staying the night with his sister and Axel came in and hung a hammock. He tried sleeping in it but kept falling out. Then later that night he pierced my ears using a long needle and popsicles. 20 years later we reconnect and get close again and he spent like 30 minutes laughing about that night.

  2. Axel had a good heart. Axel always came through for me. I remember when he took care of my dog chance he took that dog everywhere. Much love and respect my friend you will be missed.

  3. Axel and I shared many great moments and a few not so great, but even with those times we had a forever friendship. Axel was very intelligent his mind was always working, thinking, sketchin, plotting and planning. He had a good heart! I have had this book for about probably 15-20 years which he gave me. I have always cherished it. It is one of the best sentiments I have ever received. I hope you are at peace and are no longer hurting..You are missed truly. Love you my friend. Always

  4. I love Axel with my whole heart. Never have I met anyone that I felt was more like myself. Through all his shenanigans, Axel really did have a heart of Gold. I pray for your soul Axel. May you rest in paradise. I love you brother.
