Audrey Mae Matlock

Audrey was born July 18, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Elsie (Smith) Thorkilsen.  She passed away March 25, 2015 in Thornton, Colorado. Audrey was married to Jim Matlock on August 29, 1957. They were married over 53 years before Jim passed away February 24, 2010. There were 5 children born to Jim and Audrey. David Keith, who was born January 8, 1958 and passed away April 7, 1988; Guy, John, Judy and Joe, (Dad's baby boy) all of Colorado.

Audrey was a homemaker and loving mother to her family of five children. Around 1995, Audrey earned her CNA license and chose to help other people. She was dedicated and had only two clients that she cared for; Catherine and Sam Dardano. They became "part of the family" and passed before her. Catherine used to say that Audrey has to be an ANGEL because of the way that she cared for her.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Jim and her first born son David. She is survived by her four children; Guy, John, Judy and Joe; brothers-in-law, Bob of Colorado Springs and Eddie of Maine; sisters-in-law; Mary, Carol, Joye of Colorado and Berniece of Arizona; 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held April 1, 2015 at 5:00 pm with services following at 6:00 both at Bullock Colonial Chapel.  Graveside services were held at Fort Logan National Cemetery April 2, 2015 at 10:15 am (staging area C).
