Arthur Ralph Meyers

Arthur Ralph Meyers, 92, of Denver, CO. went home to the Lord on December 26, 2013. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude and son, Michael.
Art was born in Chicago, IL. He trained as a tool and die maker for Doall in Chicago. He later obtained his Masters Degree in Engineering and travelled extensively as a sales representative and consultant for International Harvester.
Art enlisted in the Army Air Corps on August 5, 1943 as a B-24 navigator. On his 25th mission, Art’s plane was shot down behind enemy lines. He was captured by the Germans and sent to a prison camp for a year and a half. He was honorably discharged on November 18, 1945 and returned home to Chicago.
Art leaves behind his wife, Joy Meyers, whom he refers to as the “love of his life”; four stepsons and their spouses and children; Michael’s wife and their children and grandchild and various nieces and nephews. Art was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, Optimist Club, Greatest Generation Foundation, Uplift Internationale, Filipino American Community of Colorado, and Philippine-American Society of Colorado.
Art was a world traveler and lived life to the fullest. Most of all, he loved his country.
