Annette “Annie” Marie Manzanares, 55, passed away May 28, 2023, @7:30AM in her home in Lakewood CO. Annie was born on April 26, 1968, 5:22 PM in Farmington, NM to Grace and Vince
Manzanares. After graduating from Delta High School Delta, Colorado in 1986, she went on to attain a degree in Psychology from Adams State College, Alamosa. Annie was an employee of the State of Colorado for 30 years, working with incarcerated youth.
An open casket Viewing will be held on Monday June 5th 4-6 PM at Stork-Bullock Family Mortuary, 1895 Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80214. A closed casket ceremony will be held on Tuesday June 6th 10-11AM at the St Paul’s Community Church at 8001 W 23rd Ave. Lakewood Co. With a procession from the church passing her home immediately after. The reception will be from 11 am to 2 pm in the St Paul’s downstairs community area.
Annie is survived by a son Ariel, parents Vince and Grace, sisters Gayle (Michael) Head and their son Gared, Viola (Anthony) Burroughs and their daughter Ciana. Also left behind, her twin brother Anthony Manzanares, and life partner Frankie Armijo and his family, son Frankie JR (Savanna) Armijo and their children Layla, Jason, Naelani, daughters Alyssa and Alexis Armijo. As well as one uncle and numerous aunts.
She served as a surrogate mother to the many troubled youth she encountered in her Criminal Justice career. In her free time, she also had a deep love for jewelry making, gardening, travel and all animals, especially Koala bears and her cats. Annie, thank you for being such a great friend and listener over the years. I will always remember how authentic you were and how much you sacrificed to be a great mom to Ariel. People like you are truly one in a million and I'll forever hold you close to my heart. Rest easy my friend.
Thank you so much, Annie, for being there for my granddaughter. You were a very good step mother and will be greatly missed.

They were always first to our house when we had a party and Anne was always the 1st to help us set up.
