Alison Charlotte Van Gulick, born March 22, 1936, in New York, New York, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 90, when she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the daughter of Walter and Charlotte Keeley and the sister of Lon Keeley. For 70 years, she shared her life with her devoted husband, Robert Van Gulick. Together, they raised two sons, Jeffrey and Peter, and she was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren.

Alison’s vibrant life included a career as a womenswear buyer for Mercantile department stores, where she showcased her impeccable taste, love of fashion, and dedication. She also spent many years working as a real estate agent. In 1965, she was crowned Mrs. New Jersey and went on to compete in the Mrs. America pageant held in San Diego, California—a testament to her grace and poise.

Within her community, Alison was deeply involved. She served as an elder and deacon at St. James Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Eastern Star, and held leadership roles as president of the Women’s Golf Association and president of her homeowners’ association. She also organized the annual Central City Fashion Show, decorated Red Rocks Country Club for Christmas each year, and founded the club’s annual craft fair.

In her free time, Alison enjoyed traveling—visiting 36 different countries—watercolor painting, golfing, Bible study, and book club. Above all, she cherished time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Van Gulick; her sons, Jeffrey (spouse Veronica) and Peter (spouse Cindy); and her six grandchildren: Erica Faulhaber, Robb Van Gulick, Tom Van Gulick, Rachel Van Gulick, Ali Van Gulick, and Samantha Van Gulick.

  1. Sweet and Beautiful Alison

You were and will forever be a beautiful light. You were the first person I met when I moved to the neighborhood and became your neighbor. I feel so fortunate to have met you and Bob. I immediately appreciated your warmth, joy and generosity. I loved hearing the many stories you and Bob shared with me. You are a remarkable woman and someone I admire very much. Thank you for sharing your lovely family with me. I will think of you often and already miss you more than you could know.

You touched the hearts of all the people who were lucky enough to know you. 💛

    May you now rest…🙏

  2. A wonderful friend who I spent many a happy hour with over the last 20 years.
    Rest in Peace.

    Bert Mochel

  3. Dear Bob and family, Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Alison. We enjoyed so many visits with you two over the course of the last 23 years that we’ve lived in the Red Rocks Country Club community. Alison was involved with so many projects at the club. She used her artistic talents and made so many events so very special. She was such a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be missed! Bob, our heart goes out to you and your family. I know she is your soulmate. Hugs and prayers, Delmar And Jan

  4. Dear Bob and Family, Sweet Alison was so kind, energetic, full of ideas of what artwork she wanted to paint next. She shared some of her favorite volunteer memories at RRCC while we played golf. Alison happily described her family and their visits. She loved painting and showing her beautiful artwork at our Red Rocks Art League’s annual show and sale. Her kind friendship will always be remembered. Jane Goin

  5. Bob and all the van Gulick family, We are so saddened by your loss. Alison was our neighbor. We shared many a happy hour and dinners together. She was the epitome of elegance but even more so the kindest and most thoughtful person I know. Her positive outlook on life endured till the very end. She was a listener, a giver, an artist and a great friend. We will miss having her light in this world. May God hold her in his loving arms. Peggy and Marc Rinehart
