I remember when Gerry played for many years on our softball team. He always had a big smile and was ready to play and ready to celebrate afterwards.
Mary Kay and I send our condolences to each of the Pacheco's. We (Jerry, Rick Schwindt, Tom Compoz and I) played a lot of golf together and had great times getting together. Never saw "J. P. Hammer" (our nickname for Jerry) get angry, except at himself. He will be missed.
I am so very sorry for your loss. Jerry was a wonderful, kind person and the ripple effect he left in this world will go on forever through all of you. I see he passed on his passion for sports to his children and grandchildren– a lot of life lessons and good character traits are learned through sports. How wonderful you had the gift of making beautiful memories with Jerry—as well as inheriting that wonderful Pacheco competitive spirit ! Those memories and lessons are now a beautiful part of his legacy to all of you. You remain in my prayers and thoughts. Rest In Peace Cousin Jerry. Thank you for always welcoming me into your home last minute when I used to visit with Elaine. You will be missed.
Jerry and I were neighborhood brothers. Our wives worked at the same bank and we met practicing for the bank's co-ed softball team. We found out we lived one block over from each other. We became friends quickly and shared many activities over the years. Golf, softball, bbqs, pick-up basketball, bank picnics and holiday parties, helping each other, trick or treating with our sons and coaching our boys at St. Rose and CYRA baseball. We were like siblings. Jerry was quiet, but I knew I had a great supportive friend. He was always generous, welcomed and was inclusive of my family and shared his close and extended family with me. Although we drifted a bit, Jerry was an important part of my life for many years. I will miss Jerry P.. I wish him peace, rest and send him my love. My prayers are with him, as well as his family.
Dave and I lived on Vallejo one block over from Jerry and Valli. Dave, Steve, our son Jason and daughter Katie always played together and sometimes got into a bit of trouble also. Every Halloween it was trick or drinking going around the block with each other. Grownup softball and the kids baseball games were always a lot of fun and laughs. Jerry will be sorely missed!!!
Prayers for the family and condolences from the Familia Aguilar. I always enjoyed playing golf with Mr Pacheco and I always admired his ability as an elder. His straight face broken up by smiles of great shots and funny jokes will always be my memory of him. I played my best golf when he was in my group May he be with us all in paradise. Dios Bendiga
