ALBERTA CORINNE KALAVITY
July 10, 1930-October 5, 2022

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Alberta Corinne Kalavity on October 5, 2022. She
was 92 years.
Alberta is lovingly remembered by many immediate and extended family members, the Jeffco Unitarian
Church Ministry and its congregation in addition to many friends including her wonderful community at
Brookdale Westland Meridian. Alberta consistently looked at the positive side of her life’s journey and
often shared a self-affirmation about how much she had to be grateful for. Her spirit will certainly be
missed by the many that knew her.
Alberta was born in Essex, MA and raised in Amesbury, MA by her parents, Carl and Dorothy Flynn along
with sisters Janet and Jackie. She subsequently worked in NYC and Minneapolis before moving to
Colorado in the mid-1950s. Married with 4 children Karen, Nick, Trish and Steven and later meeting
Gordon Day who she spent the following 33 years with before his passing almost 4 years ago to the day.
Alberta was also active with the League of Women Voters and always politically active. She was also
Morrison’s town clerk in the 1980s and retired with K&N Energy in 1994.
Besides her four children, Alberta is survived by seven Grandchildren, one great Grandchild and another
one about due. Also, sister Janet and several nephews and nieces and extended family members.

  1. I am eternally grateful for having you as my mother and will always value our incredibly special bond….
    I love you Mom,
    Nick

  2. I am missing Aunt Berta and her wonderful smile. From childhood to adulthood, her visits to Massachusetts were always important and memorable. I'm grateful to her opening the house in Denver to me in my early teens that summer.

    With love & thanks,
    Rus
