Akiko Belich was born in Japan and moved to the states in her mid 30's as she fell in love. She was an avid hiker who loved to conquer Fourteeners. Hiking and skiing were her hearts passion. She loved Colorado for its outdoor adventures. She also enjoyed traveling and returning back to Japan twice a year. As a seamstress, she dedicated a room to sewing which fulfilled her. Her husband Thomas Belich passed away in 1996, and her grandchildren survived her (Jesse, Karri, and Melissa). She has been laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Logan Cemetery.

I was distraught at the news of Akiko; we met at the gym about 8 years ago and became friends. She ate healthy and was very active. She was a nurse in Japan before coming to the States and loved to garden. She will be missed.
