Toni Lynne Grant, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66.

Born on January 28, 1959, in Burlingame, California, Toni was the daughter of Rex Dale Young and the late Charlene Mae Young. She grew up in Colorado and graduated from Golden High School in 1977. Known for her steady hand, warm heart, and remarkable work ethic, Toni built a long and respected career in accounting and office management, eventually running her own successful property management business until her retirement in 2021.

Toni’s greatest pride was her family. She was the devoted wife of Walter Grant, her husband of nearly 40 years. Together they raised a beautiful, blended family, and in 1986, began a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They later moved their family to Weld County, Colorado, where they embraced country living—raising animals, building homes, and creating lasting memories. After retiring, Toni and Walter moved to the ranch in Wyoming, drawn by the promise of quiet simplicity, open spaces, and adventure.

Toni was a creative spirit with a talent for home design, a love of the outdoors, and a deep devotion to her children and grandchildren. Whether she was helping with a kid’s animal project, riding ATVs through the hills, taking care of her horse, or planning a camping trip, Toni was always at the heart of the family’s adventures. But her most treasured moments were those spent traveling and simply being with her grandchildren, who brought her endless joy.

Toni is survived by her loving husband, Walter Grant; her children, Jessica Carrillo (Brad Carrillo), Scott Ferguson (Alexis Ferguson), Derek Ferguson (Becca Ferguson), and Natalie Grant; her cherished grandchildren, Alivia, Ainsley, and Addison Carrillo; Corbin, Twylah, and Grant Ferguson, and Rex and William Ferguson; her father, Rex Dale Young (Jeanne Young); her sister Juli Wolf (Jim Wolf), and neices Branda Lock (Doug Mattingly) and Savannah DeFontes (Kenny DeFontes). She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlene Mae Young, and her brother, Richard Dean Young.

Toni’s legacy is one of quiet strength, selfless love, and an unwavering commitment to family. She leaves behind a life well lived and hearts forever touched by her grace and kindness.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Lakewood Nazarene Church, 1755 Dover Steet, Lakewood, CO 80215. Internment at the Golden Cemetery will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Marge Cares Foundation who was great support for her and her family as she fought her battle with cancer.

  6. I was one of the nurses taking care of Toni in her final days. We spent Mother’s Day our together. I was taken away by all the phone calls she received. She shared stories and pictures of her loved ones.. camping and enjoying life. Toni will have a forever place in my heart, because she genuinely let me into hers. Walter, I hugged you and told you everything would be okay. I hate that I was wrong. I am so sorry. Toni’s life made an imprint and will forever carry on. I feel so blessed to have met her, and I will forever be grateful. My sincere condolences to the family.
