Resided in:
Englewood, Colorado
Patrick William “Bill” Bowling, age 88, of Englewood, Colorado, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Sunday, March 8th. His family remained by his side throughout his entire fight, surrounding him with love, prayer, hope, and strength.
Bill was born on August 19, 1937, in Kansas to Patrick William Bowling Sr. and Xyla Rhea Seed Bowling. He proudly attended Holy Cross Abbey High School in Cañon City, Colorado, where he played football and baseball. After graduating and briefly attending Colorado State University, Bill married his beloved wife, Rosalie C. Bowling. Together they built a beautiful life and raised four wonderful children: Ty, Todd, Tim, and Tiffany.
A devoted parishioner, Bill was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Faith was central to his life, and he found deep peace and joy in prayer and in the friendships he formed within the parish community.
Bill was known for his deep devotion to family, his sharp sense of humor, and his lifelong love of sports. These traits became part of the legacy he passed down to each of his children and grandchildren.
His love of skiing was not only a lifelong passion but also the cornerstone of his professional career. Through his work in the ski business, Bill left his thumbprint on the Colorado ski industry for much of his professional life, helping shape an industry that became central to the identity of the Colorado mountains he loved so dearly.
He especially enjoyed:
– Skiing in Vail and watching his family fall in love with the Colorado mountains
– The Bowling family tradition of attending Rockies Opening Day every year since 1993 — a celebration that eventually included three generations
– Cooking his famous clam chowder, oyster stuffing, and German chocolate cake
– Spending cherished time with his grandchildren
– Reminiscing about his eternal love for his late wife, Rosalie
– Cracking jokes at the dinner table and sharing stories that brought laughter to the room
Bill is survived by his children Todd and Pam Bowling, Tim Bowling, and Tiffany Bowling and Michael Menadue; his eight grandchildren Audra, Morgan, Bailey, Thatcher, Spencer, Parker, Jack, and Heidi; and his three great-grandchildren Merilyn, Archie, and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie, and his oldest son, Ty.
A burial service will be held on Friday, March 13th at 10:15 a.m. at Littleton Cemetery.
Following the burial, a High Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, located at 5612 S. Hickory St., Littleton, Colorado 80120. Additionally, a reception will follow at the church where family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Bill’s life.
Bill’s kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He believed deeply in his family and considered it his greatest accomplishment. The love he nurtured among all of us will remain the greatest gift he ever gave.
We will miss his smile, his stories, and the way he ended every conversation with the same heartfelt words: “Love you… kiss the kids.”
Though he is now reunited with Rosalie and those who went before him, the lessons he taught, the traditions he created, and the love he shared will continue to live on through the generations of the Bowling family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Bill Bowling’s memory.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
