Patricia J. Baer

Patricia J. Baer, 95 years young, peacefully passed away August 15, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.  Preceding Pat in death were her parents, Maxine and Wilson Dorries of Trenton, her husband Lester Baer, her daughter Peggy Beaumont, and her sister Mona Novak of Pueblo, Colorado. Pat is survived by her son Brad Baer and wife Patti, daughter Lori Baer and husband Eric Wiseman, as well as her sister-in-law, Jean Baer, and extended nieces and nephews.    Pat made her home in the Villas in Lakewood for the last 18 years, after moving to Colorado in 2005.  She lived just two blocks from Lori and Eric, which made for convenient visits and dinners almost daily.

Pat worked in St. Louis, Missouri at Famous Barr in New Accounts for 22 years, then continued working for Rosemarys Fabrics in Highland, Illinois after she ‘retired’ for another 14 years.  She loved finding her new hobby of piecing and making amazing quilts and other artistic pieces, as well as gardening, yard work, and enjoying Cardinal Baseball games.

A small celebration of life will take place in Lakewood, Colorado at a later date, and possibly another in Trenton, Illinois later also.

Planting flowers, growing African Violets, reading books, making a quilt, or raising a glass of red wine, are all wonderful ways to honor our mom.  She led a simple but peaceful life, surrounded by friends and acquaintances.  And she loved a ‘small world’ situation…..’Oh, You’re from Illinois? Which town?  Do you know so and so?’

If interested, donations can be made to the Forest Service Plant a Tree Program at plantatree.fs.usda.gov……. your choice of National Forests or let the FS decide where plantings are needed.
