Born in: Golden , Colorado
Resided in: Golden , Colorado

It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Marion “Lee” Messinger, a lifelong resident of Golden Colorado. Lee passed away on Sunday July 20, 2025, at the age of 73.

Lee was born November 27, 1951, at his parents’ home in Golden Colorado to the late William and Martha Messinger.  He was the 2nd youngest of 6 children.  Two of which, Mae Bradley and William Messinger II, preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death is his son, Rick Dwight III.

Lee went to work in construction right out of high school and was always a very dedicated and hard worker. He often worked his way up to management and continued to work in management throughout his life.  In his early 30’s he began working as a Ferrier and Horse Trainer and that was the start of his love for horses and animals in general. He continued his work as a Ferrier for over 30 years. He was a “fix-it” kind of guy and became a jack of all trades.  In the days before his passing, he was still working part time for Monarch Metals and taking care of his garden and his animals at home.  Lee’s favorite past time was riding motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson. Annual trips to Sturgis were a regular part of his summers for many years.

Lee leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 43 years Sherrie Messinger, his siblings, Marty Norris, Charlotte Stouffer, and Jesse Messinger, his son Josh Dwight, his daughter Billie Allen, his grandchildren, Bailey, Brianna, Alyssa, Luke, Cash and Lynnox, and many nephews and cousins. And of course, his little dog Willow.

Lee loved his family more than life itself and his grandchildren were his pride and joy!

Family and friends are invited to the park at 1617 Cole Blvd. Lakewood 80401 on August 9, 2025, from 10am – 2pm, to reminisce, support each other, and celebrate the life of Marion Lee Messinger.

We look forward to seeing everyone!
