Linda Nielsen

November 29, 1945 ~ November 21, 2021
NIELSEN, LINDA, November 29, 1945-November 21, 2021
Linda Sue Bailey Nielsen was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, the second daughter to Joe and Betty Bailey. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1963 and Arkansas Technical University in Russellville with a degree in Recreation Administration in 1967. Upon graduation, she accepted a two-year position in Germany managing recreation centers for service members in the military. After five years, her mother asked if she was coming home…..She ultimately did, and since she learned to ski in Europe, she initially went home to Arkansas and promptly moved to Denver.
In Denver, she met her husband John and after a brief courtship they were married (over 46 years!). She is survived by John and their two daughters, Kirsten Nielsen Salter (husband, Jason) and grandsons Owen and Carter, and Alexis Nielsen Kenney (husband, Daniel) and granddaughter Isabelle.
Linda was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease several years ago, and as you know, this usually has an ugly, progressive outcome. She spent over three years at Village at Belmar, Memory Care. Unfortunately, the disease won out on November 21, 2021.
There will be a cremation and afterwards a Celebration Of Life ceremony held Friday, December 10th from 1-4PM at the South Suburban Golf Course, 7900 S. Colorado Blvd. Centennial, Colorado 80122. For more information contact Alexis at kenneyan@gmail.com or 720-309-3633.
