  6. Gene & I worked together in the Robbery Unit. Gene was not only an excellent detective but a very compassionate person. Gene & Linda were there for Rhonda & I when we lost our son Patrick. We will never forget the comfort they gave to us.
Because of the type of person Gene was, he has earned his place with God.
    Rest in Peace Gene.

  7. I worked with Gene in District One. He was one of the most caring, conscientious, and professional officers that I’ve ever known. Gene had been through personal tragedies that none of us should have to endure. Yet he pushed on as a fine and honorable police officer. I’ll always remember him and treasure his friendship.

  10. We miss seeing Gene in church. His smile was a treasure that he readily shared with everyone. About Gene, everyone who knew and shared life with him can say, “well done, good and faithful servant.” Linda and family, we are so sorry for your loss. May all the fun and wonderful memories you have with Gene, help you through this difficult time of grief. Bryan and Becci Crist.

  11. I worked with Gene waaay back in the 80’s. I never worked with a more even keeled, decent, honest cop. God bless him.

  12. Gene was such a kind and caring man. We had in common they we both lost a young son. A highlight in our friendship was he and Linda went on vacation with us to Hawaii. Also a fun train ride seeing the Aspen trees and Gene reminiscing about Leadville. Sending love and prayers to Linda.

  13. Gene was a thoughtful, caring, loving guy who wore his feelings on his shirtsleeve. You never had to guess what Gene was thinking or feeling. 😉 Many years ago, when Gene was still a policeman, my wife had her purse stolen while at work. Gene saw the report come in and immediately called to see if Anna was OK. We got to know Gene and Linda well thru church and have remained good friends over the decades. You will be missed, Gene. The world is a better place because of your presence among us. May you rest in peace and rise in glory!

  14. Gene and I joined DPD the same day July 1, 1970. He was always there to help. He made every task a fun event.

  15. I got to know Gene through my years on the job. Gene was a great man, who I had a lot of respect for. I even got Gene and his son to join us at Chatfield Reservoir for some boating and jet skiing. Gene it was a honor to have known you.

I am sorry I will not be able to make it to your memorial service. RIP
