Elaine M. Spahn (84), born in Reedley, California on October 5th, 1939, to Walter L. and Estelle K. England. Moved to Colorado with her family as a young girl, where she graduated from Annunciation Catholic School.

On June 6th, 1962, she married her love, Donald R. Spahn Sr. and together welcomed and raised four children. Their children, Susan E. (Burt Hastings), Donald R (Julie), Kristin M. (James Farley) and Tricia L. (Thomas Swallow), were her pride and joy.

While she never had a career, she had many jobs and talents, her favorite being a homemaker. Throughout her life she managed a lot of different people and worked for just a few companies. She was loyal to all.

Elaine spent her life embracing her family, including numerous grandchildren as well as great grandchildren. She will be missed dearly.

  1. Aunt Elaine made me feel loved and special every time she greeted me at our large family gatherings. Also, no one can deny that her mustard pork chops with potatoes are the greatest! -EE

  2. Aunt Elaine. She and I had wonderful conversations over the years. She told me that she didn't share her birthday month with anyone until my daughter was born the day before her. So very special person that loved everyone

  3. Dear Sis, I was blessed to have such an amazing big sister, who loved me deeply and was so generous and kind to me and my boys. My love always "I will see you in heaven" Diane

  4. Theresa, Michelle and Michael were blessed to grow up with our lovely Aunt Elaine, Uncle Donnie (our dad's twin brother) and our cousins (Susan, Donnie, Kristin and Trish).

Aunt Elaine was always part of our lives when we were children. She became our caregiver when our mom, Joan, went back to work. Aunt Elaine loved and cared for Theresa, Michelle and Michael as if we were her own children. We believed her house was our second home and felt comfortable doing all the things children do. We played with her children (our cousins), watched TV, had slumber parties, went to church, and ate amazing meals she provided. She guided us when we had conflicts to solve, did things like make Theresa special sandwiches because she was “allergic” to peanut butter, and took care of us when we were injured or sick. We felt completely loved and cared for by Aunt Elaine and we trusted her to be there for us.

We will always have a special place in our hearts for our Aunt Elaine.

With love, Thesesa Spahn, Michelle Spahn and Michael Spahn
