Carol Lynn Houp

December 30, 1958 ~ April 24, 2025
Carol Lynn Houp, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and dear friend to many, was born on December 30, 1958. Carol graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1976. Soon thereafter, she started working at Colorado Scientific, a Denver supplier of geological and chemical products. Forty-seven years later, Carol held the title of Vice President of The Science Company. Without her years of commitment, The Science Company would never have become a Denver staple in the industry.
Ellie Jean, her famous “Westy” was Carol’s constant companion. She even accompanied Carol to work and became an honorary employee of The Science Company. Carol loved antique cars almost as much as Ellie. Carol could be seen many Saturdays at the Golden Cruise while driving her 1934 Ford hot rod in the long parade of automobiles. Another piece of Carol’s identify was her loyalty to North Denver. Carol loved to restore old homes and did so in three different North Denver locations, all close to Sloan’s Lake. Carol was raised by Christian parents, Ben and Shirlie Bates. Carol recently began attending Crossroads of Denver church to strengthen her personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Carol was known by family and friends as being persistent, eccentric, loyal, hard-working, creative, and most of all – her own person. Carol was a gorgeous woman, both inside and out. Her beauty and presence will be missed by all who knew her. Carol said good-bye to this life on April 24, 2025.
I share in the family’s sadness over the death of Carol Lynn. I remember her calling me and inviting me to join her for lunch ar Dardano’s Italian restaurant in Lakewood. It was so enjoyable and I got to meet Eli and his girlfriend. I love this family so much. I am praying that God‘s peace will cover you all and one day we’ll have a joyful reunion with Carol in heaven.
I don’t know what happened to Carol for her to go be with her our dads in Heaven, but I know she will be missed. I welcome calls or text messages from family. 907-398-8792. My condolences and sorrow for you all, Colleen, Tommy and Aunt Shirley. I love you. Annette Pankoski, Soldotna, Alaska
