Carl Doria

Carl Doria passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his residence in Castle Rock, CO, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in New Rochelle, NY on Monday, January 8, 1940, Carl was the only child of the late John and Josephine (nee Rotondo) Doria. Losing his father early on to World War II, Carl was raised by his strong, independent mother and formidable Italian-born grandmother Angelina, along with the rest of the tightly knit Morabito-Rotondo household in New Rochelle.

As time rolled by, Carl found himself enlisting in the US Army at age 17 and enjoying a long career in the consumer and commercial electronics and technology industries. He met and later married the Irish love of his life in the fall of 1964 and worked tirelessly to build a good life and raise his family in what would become our longtime home for more than 50 years in New Milford, CT.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Mary (nee Kennedy); his daughter, Laura (Mitchell) McGovern; his son, Steve (Teresa) Doria; and cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Robert) Wadsworth, Tara McGovern, Kelan Doria, Garret (Sophia) Doria and John Doria.

Known for his rather direct and no-nonsense approach to life coupled with a wry sense of humor and deep dedication to his family, Carl will be dearly missed. Our family is grateful for having him in our lives.
