Anna Moen

July 13, 1922 ~ November 16, 2023
Anna (Swanson) Moen passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023 at her home in Littleton, Colorado. During her 101 years she brought joy to the lives of many; most recently the caregivers, volunteers, and other residents of her assisted living home. Anna was born in Spooner, Minnesota and lived in Baudette until she and her husband George moved to Colorado in 1965 to be closer to her sister and nieces….and enjoy milder winters. While in Baudette she was a telephone operator for Northwest Bell. In Denver, she was a switchboard operator for the May Company stores for 21 years until her retirement. Her husband George passed away in August of 2009.
She will be remembered for her easy smile and love of everyone. If you met Anna you were instantly in love with her. She will be dearly missed by the family she left behind and the others whose lives she touched.
Though she lived in the Denver area, Baudette was her favorite topic. She would light up anytime someone mentioned they had visited Minnesota. If you would like to honor her memory please consider a donation to the Baudette Depot, PO Box 1238, Baudette, MN 56623
Anna left us with so many wonderful memories and life's simplest, yet most often forgotten, advice – “love everyone”. You were so dearly loved, Anna! We are forever grateful for the opportunity to know her and her wonderful family.
To know Anna was to love her! She had such a kind way of making those around her feel connected and loved. Anna left us with so many wonderful memories. With all the years of life experiences she had, there was one piece of advice she shared – “love everyone”. Anna, I will always cherish the memories and smile at the very thought of you.
Candie, Cathie and family – You are so in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you for the opportunity to care for Anna. It was an honor. 💛
Anna held very strong Scandinavian roots and traditions. Every year the family would get together around the holidays to make Lefse and and once in a while we suffered through the making of Lutefisk, a sour kind of boiled whole fish that took years of practice to stomach. (I always passed on the Lutefisk) Anna was an excellent cook and loved to get everyone together for family time and believe me she was the thread that tied us all together. During the last few years with George Christmases were always spent at their house with Anna and all the ladies busy getting everything ready while the guys sat around and told lies. Anna loved Christmas time and our holidays were always celebrated with family because of her.
Anna had a hard time living alone for a few years but once she moved to ThriveCare her world opened up and she really came out of her shell and lived those last few years abundantly. She really seemed to improve in both health and Clarity. She called Candie every evening they would go over the day, Candie would often get off the phone with the comment that Anna was more on the go than we were. What a full and wonderful life she had over the last few years.
Erika—Thank you and the Thrive crew for all the good care you gave Anna. She had a good life, thanks to all of you.
