Sergiy Veneychuk

Sergiy was born and spend his childhood in Chelyabinsk, Russia. At the age of 11, he welcomed a younger brother, whom he loved and looked after eagerly. From an early age, Sergiy was very talented: at age 8, he enrolled himself in a music school, where he played piano and was a choir soloist. He had a passion for reading, and excelled at school.

At age 16, the family moved to Ukraine, where Sergiy finished his studies and became a mining engineer. One of his friends invited him to church, where he first came to know God and became a Christian.

In 2006, during a visit to friends in the USA, Sergiy met Natalya, his future wife. In 2007, they got married and lived together for 19 years, raising two daughters – Ava and Kate.

In 2021, Sergiy was diagnosed with cancer. For five years, he courageously fought the illness, continuing to work, travel with his family, and live life to the fullest. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, and father, who placed his trust in Christ. He approached life with honesty, integrity and a unique sense of humor that sparked laughter and joy around him. He knew how to turn ordinary moments into fun memories.

Before his death, Sergiy said that he knew where he was going and was looking forward to meeting Jesus, whom he loved. He took his last breath on September 9^th, during a pastor’s prayer, surrounded by his family.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7

Sergiy is survived by his beloved wife, Natalya; his daughters, Ava and Kate; his mother, Galina Kuznetsova; his brother, Evgenii Kuznetsov; his mother-in-law, Galina Zvereva, and father-in-law, Valeriy Zverev; his sisters-in-law, Olga Feider (Justin), Anastasiya Tolmachev, and Yuliya Zvereva.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Emilia Tolmacheva, Elizabeth Tolmacheva, Marcus Tolmachev, Jesse Tolmachev, Kiril Shlykov, and Olga Shlykov; and his great-nieces, Kira, Sophia, and Nicole Shlykov.

Sergiy was predeceased by his grandparents, and his father Nikolay Veneychuk.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his beloved cats, Holly and Michelle.

The family will be hosting a celebration of life on September 14^th, 2026 at 10am at Bethel Community, 13231 E Mississippi Ave, Aurora CO 80012 and will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Cemetery at 1pm, 12801 W. 44^th Ave, Wheat Ridge CO 80033.
