Born in: Baltimore, Maryland
Resided in: Arvada, Colorado

Charles Edward Weaver (“Eddie”), a longtime resident of Arvada, CO, passed peacefully on June 26, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 64 years old.

Born June 29, 1961, in Baltimore, MD to a single mother, Eddie was so deeply loved that her courage led her to entrust him to a family member through adoption. As the new son of an Air Force serviceman, he spent his childhood in several eastern states, including NC, MD, and VA. A gifted student, Eddie graduated from Thomas Dale High School (Chesterfield, VA) at just 16 years old. He enjoyed hunting, crabbing, and playing baseball.

A deep respect for the military led Eddie to enlist in the U.S. Air Force in February 1980. He completed Basic Training at Lowry AFB in Denver, CO; attended NCO Orientation at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX; and served as a Munitions Systems Specialist at Kadena Air Base on Okinawa, Japan. Among the many ribbons he received, he was most proud of earning the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Following his honorable discharge in late 1984, Eddie returned to the East Coast to be closer to family.

In 1996, Eddie met his future wife, Caroline, through America Online. After a year of online chats, handwritten letters, and long-distance phone calls, he moved from NH to CO – a place he had fallen in love with during Basic Training but had never truly been able to explore.

Eddie and Caroline were married in 1999 and built a life filled with shared adventures and laughter. Together they enjoyed playing video games, cheering on the Colorado Rockies, fishing and boating in the beautiful reservoirs of the Colorado Rockies, and taking four-wheel-drive excursions into places most vehicles were never intended to go – well, at least one of them enjoyed that!

Eddie’s interests were as varied as they were passionate. He loved target shooting, singing, playing guitar, stargazing through his telescope, and astrophotography. His greatest hobby became his passion – web development, which he used to serve others through his ministry website, Hope Through Faith Christian Ministries. His love for God and his desire to encourage anyone in need found lasting expression through that work.

After searching for many years, Eddie found a church home at Faith Church in Arvada, CO. On September 21, 2025, he publicly professed his faith in Jesus Christ through water baptism. Eddie lived with the assurance that he would be welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. His favorite hymn, Just As I Am, expressed his heart best: “O Lamb of God, I come! I come!”

In a private family ceremony, Eddie was laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO, including the presentation of military honors and a three-volley rifle salute.

Eddie was preceded in death by his birth mother, Betty Ruth Wilson, and his adoptive parents, Charles Wesley Weaver and Kathryn Janet Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Gail Portmann-Weaver (Arvada, CO); his three children, Amanda Gail Weaver (Marlboro, MD), Alesia Nicole Weaver-Harzold (King George, VA), and James Wesley Weaver (Garden City, SC); and two grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Faith Church (in honor of Eddie’s life and the compassion extended to him and his family), the Disabled American Veterans, or the American Cancer Society.
