Philip Thomas Cashion

It is with great sadness that we share that Philip Thomas Cashion (known as “Phil” outside of his family), age 34, passed away on October 13, 2025, after a ten-month hospitalization following a catastrophic epileptic seizure. Philip was born on June 12, 1991, in Amarillo, Texas. Most of his childhood years were spent in Boerne, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2014 with a double degree of Information Systems and Infrastructure Assurance.

Tired of ever-present Texas heat, Philip moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, (“FoCo”) shortly after college graduation and lived there until his death. He met his wife, Elizabeth (Beth) in FoCo. They were married on September 7, 2024.

Growing up, Philip gave back to his community by coaching and volunteering with the local Special Olympics team. More recently, his charitable interests were in conservation and caring for the earth as well as love and support of all people. Phil was a quiet and unassuming man with no desire for the limelight or attention on himself. He nevertheless had an effect on people, and everyone seemed to gravitate toward him.

Phil’s employment career was in information technology. At the time of his death, Phil worked for Smarsh Inc. as a technical support engineer. He was a knowledgeable NBA super fan, especially for the San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets. He enjoyed many kinds of non-mainstream music (from jazz to alt-country to Norwegian black metal!), he was a hot-sauce connoisseur, and in the last couple of years he was getting into distance running again, such as the Horsetooth Half Marathon in FoCo. Over the last ten years or so, Phil had become an illustrated man as a tattoo enthusiast. Most of his pieces had significant meaning to him and to his friends.

Philip is survived by his wife, Beth Keller, of FoCo; parents Paul & Jenny Cashion and brother Adam of Boerne, TX; brother Andrew (Holly) Cashion with children Jack & Emilia of The Woodlands, TX; paternal grandmother Lila Cashion of Bryan, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a celebration-of-life party on November 9, 2025 (noon – 2:00 pm) at Mythmaker Brewery, 1035 S Taft Hill Road, in Ft. Collins, CO.

A Memorial Service in Boerne, Texas, will be held at St. Mark Presbyterian Church on November 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm.
