Benjamin Bruton, 61, from Centennial Colorado, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on November 23, 1963 in Wichita, Kansas to Roger and Carol Bruton. He grew up in the midwest and Calgary, Canada and graduated from Cherry Creek High School in suburban Denver in 1982.
Ben received a bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University and a Master’s Degree in creative writing from New York University. He was a talented writer of short stories and had a long and successful career as a book publicist in New York City. He travelled widely and enjoyed the many cultural opportunities his beloved Manhattan had to offer. He had many friends and was loved for his wit and charm. He retired from his career and moved home to be with his father after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018.
Ben is survived by his father, brother Sam and sister Rebecca. He was preceded in death by his mother. A memorial service will be held for him on Sept. 25, 2025 at 10 am at Hope United Methodist, 5101 S Dayton St, Greenwood Village, CO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Ben to be made to the Oral Cancer Foundation (Santa Fe, NM) or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
