Born in: Portis, Kansas
Resided in: Denver, Colorado

With deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Randall Lattin Weeks, a devoted husband, respected attorney, and passionate steward of Colorado’s western heritage. Randall passed away peacefully on the tenth of June leaving behind a legacy of integrity, intellect, and unwavering commitment to community.

Born on March 20, 1935, in the small town of Portis, Kansas, Randall was the beloved son of Lester and Edith Weeks and older brother to Barbara Jeanette Weeks. He carried his Midwestern roots with him throughout his life—grounded in honesty, hard work, and humility.

Randall’s academic journey led him to the University of Kansas and then to the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned his Juris Doctor. It was during these formative years in Boulder that he met the love of his life, Orrelle. Their marriage in 1964 marked the beginning of a 50-year partnership full of joy and shared purpose. Orrelle preceded Randall in death in 2014, and not a day passed without his heart turned gently toward her memory.

After law school, Randall began his law career clerking for the Honorable Alfred Arraj, Federal District Court Judge, before joining The Hodges Law Firm which later merged with Davis, Graham & Stubbs, now Davis Graham. Over the decades, Randall became a trusted legal voice across Colorado, representing influential clients in the oil and gas, mining, cattle, agricultural industries and Denver’s own National Western Stock Show. His work with the National Western Stock Show reflected not only his legal acumen but also his enduring love for the American West and its traditions.

Randall believed deeply in giving back. He lent his wisdom to numerous boards and committees, including the Denver Public Library, the National Western Executive and Art Committees, and the American Water Works Association. Through this service, he helped shape Denver’s cultural landscape—nurturing its literature, preserving its art, and honoring its frontier spirit.

He is survived by his sister, Barbara Jeanette Weeks, his cousins Barbara (Roger) Hiner, JoAnn Meier, Ruth Ann Lucke, Nicole (Sean) Wilson and their children Blake and McKenzie, Tamara (Ryan) Parker and their children Preston, Sophia, and Qianna, Tara (Albert) Jaramillo and their children Kennedy and Kamden, and Glen and Patti Nelson, and close friends Jeffrey (Paula, Perri & Chris) Otto along with countless friends, colleagues, and mentees who were inspired by his quiet strength and thoughtful counsel.

Those who knew Randall remember a man of few, well-chosen words; a mind sharpened by law and softened by love; and a heart that remained loyal to his roots, his family, and the West he cherished.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Randall’s honor to the Denver Public Library or the National Western Stock Show Scholarship Fund—two institutions close to his heart.

May his memory continue to guide us, with the steadiness of his voice and the enduring warmth of his presence.
