Shawn Yatckoske

August 17, 1974 ~ October 9, 2023
Shawn Yatckoske was born August 17th, 1974 In Denver, CO. He loved spending time with his son, Adrick and daughter-in law, Justice. Whether it was golfing, cooking his famous roast beast, watching movies, or listening to his favorite tunes, Shawn wanted his family around. Shawn also loved spending time with Blue, the family dog; they loved to share sandwiches and string cheese.
Shawn lived many places during his life. Minnesota and Colorado usually being home base. He eventually settled in Denver where his son is. Shawn spent much of his career as a truck driver though he tried many things - a stint in the oil field, real estate, he gave many things a try. Shawn was a dreamer, was willing to try things at least once and when things flopped, he usually landed on his feet.
Shawn was a great man - tough as nails but not afraid to sit you down and say, “I love you.” Shawn’s open and optimistic outlook on life was contagious; they just don't make men like him anymore. He was the best of the best. His superpower was humor. He could make anyone laugh in any situation. Shawn valued honestly, integrity and most of all humility.
Shawn passed away October 9th, 2023 at the age of 49.
Shawn is survived by his son, Adrick, his wife, Justice and his sister and her spouse, Amber and Cary (Boose) McDonald. He was preceded in death by his father, Allan Yatckoske.
Shawn and I grew up together in Aurora just a a couple blocks away from each other. Our friendship going back to when went to North middle school together, same class and same circle of friends. I gotta say Shawn clicked because we were both raised by our grandparents and shared alot of the same old school values. I believe that's something that made us good friends during or high school years as well. Although he didn't go by Shawn in high school, he went by Chince, a nick name he got from his neighborhood friends. LOL. All the good times we had, I remember like it was yesterday because we used to spend alot time in deep conversation, listening to tunes, hitting parties, blending in with everyone. Shawn was good at blending, he was friends with everyone, knew someone where ever he went. He vibed with everyone, cool, funny at true to his word. I could honestly say he was one of my best friends growing up. I could share memories and talk for hours about the times we shared the conversations we had and the crazy fun we had growing up in A town. I'm thankfull that we stayed friends for many years thirty six to be exact. Shawn moved a couple times but we always seemed to cross paths when he came back. I'll miss that genuine smile and hug we always gave each other after years of not seeing other, no matter where it was. Catching up and of course going down memory lane that thirty six years of life has to offer. I gotta say it felt like we never missed a beat when we crossed paths, a joke from the past, a gesture that brought back good memories from way back in the day. What ever memories came back? I can say being in the moment was always real. It was true gift he had and shared with many, that's what I'll miss the most. Rest easy Chince!
My fondest memory of Chince is when my shepard bit him in the butt during a water gun fight! Everyone had a good laugh over it including Chince himself. Rest in peace, you will be missed by all.
