Christopher Ryan Lachman
March 22, 1987 – November 21, 2022

Christopher R. Lachman, passed away in Wheat Ridge, CO, on November 21, 2022 at
the age of 35.
Chris was born in Denver, CO on March 22, 1987, to Don and Donna Lachman. Don and
Donna made their home in Wheat Ridge, CO, where they raised Chris and his older brother Ben.
Chris attended Lakewood High School, where he ran cross country. He graduated in 2005. After
High School, Chris attended Metropolitan State College of Denver, where he ran on the cross
country team, under coach Pete Julian. Chris moved out to Craig, CO, where he lived for a time.
Chris eventually moved back to Wheat Ridge, and worked as a manager at the Elitch Gardens
food court, where he met many friends and co-workers who he kept in touch with over the
years. Chris eventually found his passion, working in the trades, and decided to pursue a career
in plumbing. He worked for Kraus & Company as an apprentice plumber and eventually got his
journeyman’s license, passing the test on his first try. Many family and friends would call Chris
with their plumbing emergencies and Chris loved to help them and took a lot of pride and care
in his work. He was very proud of the skill that he had as a plumber and being able to help
people when they needed him.
Chris had many hobbies and passions. He loved raising Columbia Sheep. He was very
active in the National Columbia Sheep Breeders Association, where he made many friends with
breeders from across the country. Chris loved going to auctions and sheep sales. He also
enjoyed spending time on his farm out in Byers, CO and playing with his dog, Avalanche. Chris
loved watching Nuggets and Avalanche games and was an avid sports fan. Most of all, Chris
loved spending time with his family and friends and the people he loved.
Chris is survived by his mother and father, Don and Donna Lachman, of Wheat Ridge,
CO and his older brother Ben, of Castle Rock, CO. Chris was loved by so many and will be
greatly missed.

  1. I am terribly sorry to hear of Chris's passing! I met Chris on social media through the Columbia Sheep Breeders. We had the chance to meet in person in Cheyenne along with brother Ben. I am grateful to have had the pleasure to meet him in person. What a nice young man. My condolences to his family!! Heidi Klick

  2. we so enjoyed chris, seeing him and visiting at the columbia shows and on fb. the sweetest smile and so many photos of everything he was doing. will miss this young man

  3. This is so hard to learn of his passing. It just can't click that he is not here. So terribly bright and friendly. I not only knew him from Elitchs but my daughter and him always worked together to. We were co workers, friends and animal lovers. I waited every year to see if he would show his sheep and nothing this year. That is when I just assumed he was busy with his job, sharp and his pup he just got not long ago. This is so sad and I just can't imagine how his family feel. They were so close. I loved seeing the pictures he would take of them. Oh and how he was so excited to become a plumber. As well as the pictured of his jobs he posted. I could never do plumbing. He was brave. What a huge loss of a beautiful soul. Love and prayers to you Chris, your family and your animals you loved so much.
