Guestbook

  1. Couldn't have asked for a more wonderful brother.  He really knew how to take care of and enjoy his little sister.  I will miss him so much.

  2. Dear Becky,

I am so very sorry that Bob passed away.  I hope you received the card I sent you a couple of days ago when I first read about this tragedy.  Spending time with both of you when you lived in Santa Clara showed me what a wonderful marriage you had.  I will donate to the American Cancer society in his name.

    Love,  Carol

  3. Robert, you had a way to make people feel that you  we're their best friend.  You truly cared about your friends, but will I ever miss the wit and insights of 60 year's friendship.

  4. We loved Bob Chessman and will so fondly remember so many wonderful characteristics that made him so special.  Becky and family….you are always in our thoughts.

  5. Becky,

We are so saddened by Bob's passing.  He was a great brother-in-law and we will miss him so.  His love of family and his presence at all family gatherings will always make me smile.  We will always be here for you, Becky!

  6. Dear Becky and Family, Even though we are miles apart we so enjoyed the visits we made to Denver and you made to Maryland.  The miles may be many but the memories are even greater.  We will miss the stories he so loved to tell and the wisdom he showed everyone.  Autumn sends her love, Sydney does too, even though she is the shy one.  You are my cousins and I love you all!!

  7. My deepest condolences to you Becky, family and friends and clan members.

I had the honor of being with Bob when he took his last gentle breath, and yes, it was peaceful. Though I am sad to see a friend and patient go, I trust Bob is free of pain and fear. Our friendship developed through the month he was with us on 1 North. The up's and downs of his cancer and his courageous will to live rallied all the staff on 1 North to get behind Bob and cheer him forward.

I hope you take comfort in knowing that Bob and I share a joy for science and chemistry and I would plea with him to help me understand Physics. I do understand some parts of physics, probably not on the level in which Bob understood, but I think we share the belief in the first Law of Thermodynamics, where energy is neither created nor destoryed,….it just takes another form.

…..so now I picture Bob's energy as a trillion photons of light, free to move about and shine down on all those he loved. He will be the warm sun which kisses our cheeks, or a sparkle of light shooting off the small ripples on his favorite fishing streams. He is everwhere! I will never forget Bob's shy smile and the joy he took in helping me celebrate my birthday by eating a big piece of birthday carrot cake. I will forever hold Bob in my heart, he will always bring54 a smile to my face.

I will forever pray for you, Becky and family and hope my words can provide you some comfort.

    Love,

    Rebecca Sandoval RN

  8. Becky and Gayle, lesson learned, when you think you may have all the time in the world you don't.   I wish I had met my second cousin!  I am blessed to know Gayle and hear many stories from Peggy Lucas.   The celebration of life you had for Bob was fabulous!   I am so glad I finally got to meet you Becky and all your wonderful family and friends.   God Bless ♡

  9. I wish I had known Bob.  He sounded like someone I would have enjoyed visiting with.  The memorial service was lovely.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  May God bless you and comfort you.

  10. It was a privaledge for me to have worked with Bob at the City of San Jose. I will always be grateful for all of his wise thoughts, but most of all the postive encouragement he always gave me at work. I am a better person from having known him. I'll miss him very much.

  11. Dear Becky, I am so sorry for your loss, may you find the strength in his beautiful memories. Bob is a great man and I am thank full that I got to know him over the years. He was one of the first people I met and got to train with in the City of San Jose. He always was kind and respectful and knew his stuff, AND was always proud of his heritage and I do remember him at the Highland games in Campbell. He will be missed dearly. Please take good care of yourself.

  12. It was a great honor to work with Bob here at the City of San Jose. Bob will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.  God Bless.

  13. I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing.  I worked with him for many years at the City of San Jose and I will never forget Bob's good humor and the many insider jokes he shared with his fellow inspectors.  I really enjoyed his enthusiasm for the Highland Games and am so glad I made it to one of the last ones in Campbell.  Even more, I enjoyed seeing the Wicked Wood caber in the King's Head Pub and hearing the tales of it being carried down the street to the games.  My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family.

  14. My sincere condolences to you, Becky, and to your family on the loss of Bob.  I had the pleasure of working with him and knowing him for many years at the City of San Jose.  He had a wry sense of humor that I enjoyed and my husband and I enjoyed attending the Highland Games in Campbell that he was so enthusiastic about (and seeing him in his kilt!).
